Ye Linlang sounded rather chipper.

Her mood had changed so quickly that Jessica did not know what to think of it.

Jessica opened the door and beckoned Xie Xuning to come in.

Wariness and terror filled Ye Linlang’s eyes upon seeing Xie Xuning standing at the entrance.

Jessica was shocked by how defensive Ye Linlang looked against Xie Xuning. She did not understand why Ye Linlang was acting like this.

“Linlang, this is Xie Xuning.”

Xie Xuning’s voice was soft and mellow, like snowflakes floating lightly to the ground.

Ye Linlang slowly walked toward Jessica, who then motioned for Xie Xuning not to move.

“Jessica, he, he is a cheat. He wants to trick me. I will not fall for it.”

Jessica let out a laugh and said, “Linlang, he is not lying to you. This really is Xie Xuning…”

Shi Han patted Ye Linlang’s hand and said, “I will protect you.”

The sight of Ye Linlang grabbing his arm tightly and looking very frightened made Shi Han frown.

“Shi Han, I’m neither crazy nor ill!”

Ye Linlang’s pleading look inevitably reminded Shi Han of those times when she was still recovering.
