"I wonder, esteemed elder, what do you know about the Void Travelers?"
The Observer glanced at Wang Wang opposite him and said softly, "Not much."
"Do the wizards of the Origin World not know much about Void Travelers either?" Angel was somewhat surprised.
The Observer nodded, "They rarely appear before humans, only distributed across the Void. Plus, they are few in number, highly capable of space teleportation, and given the vastness of the Void, it’s indeed difficult to spot them."
Angel glanced at the Observer, thinking to himself: Quite a diplomat when it comes to words.
What the Observer meant was "rare, timid, only knows how to run," but thanks to his embellishment, it didn’t sound so harsh.
At least, Wang Wang opposite didn’t catch the subtext in the Observer’s words.
Angel: "Have Void Travelers never appeared in the Origin World?"
The Observer: "Probably some have, but I haven’t seen any. However, I did hear about something. In the Phantom Spirit City of Gluz Deward, there seem to be Void Travelers."
The Observer paused as if recalling something, then looked up at Angel with inquisitive eyes.
Angel gently nodded in response to the Observer’s inquiry.
The Observer understood now. It turns out Wang Wang is interested in the Void Travelers of the Phantom Spirit City… No wonder, in the pure white chamber, it was so against Gluz Deward and Polo Ye.
Although the Observer understood perfectly, he didn’t show it because he still didn’t know what kind of cooperation Wang Wang wanted. If it required him to storm the Phantom Spirit City to save the Void Travelers… that wasn’t possible. Let alone the strength of Gluz Deward’s true form, there are quite a few citizens in the Phantom Spirit City whose power surpasses his. Going there would be like delivering vegetables to them.
"Do you know, esteemed elder, how many Void Travelers are there in the Phantom Spirit City?"
The Observer shook his head: "That, I’m not sure of. The Phantom Spirit City does not welcome humans, and even I have never been to the Phantom Spirit City."
Angel nodded, understanding that what the Observer knew wasn’t much different from what they knew. Anyway, the only thing that’s clear is that the Phantom Spirit City certainly has Void Travelers.
"Esteemed elder, from listening to this, you should know what Wang Wang wants to do, right?"
The Observer did not deny, after all, he had just exchanged a look with Angel: "It wants to save the same kind from the Phantom Spirit City?"
Angel nodded.
The Observer: "So, it hopes I can become its partner to help save its companions?"
Angel: "Yes, and no."
The Observer: "What do you mean?"
Angel: "The Phantom Spirit City is so dangerous, Wang Wang knows it won’t let the elder risk his life. It hopes that the elder can help it by devising a strategy and plan, using the bargaining chips in its hands to successfully rescue its companions."
The Observer didn’t look too pleased at first, because if he really had to storm the Phantom Spirit City, that would basically mean a dead end. But upon hearing Angel’s words, the Observer’s expression immediately returned to normal.
If it’s just about devising strategies and making plans, that’s not a problem.
"Making plans and devising strategies, that was your idea, wasn’t it?" The Observer suddenly spoke, looking at Angel.
Angel never thought he could hide it from the Observer. Among those present, Wang Wang was clearly an inexperienced Void shut-in, and Wang Wang was a Great Demon King who didn’t need to understand worldly matters. Only he could handle such delicate tasks. So, being detected by the Observer was just a matter of time.
Bringing it up first saved Angel from further explanations later.
"Can’t fool the elder." Angel nodded, "I suggested it, which is beneficial to the elder too."
After speaking, Angel winked at the Observer and glanced toward the Dalmatian.
The Observer immediately understood Angel’s hint.
Previously, Angel had said that to leave here, they must get the Dalmatian’s consent. At the time, Angel hadn’t explained how to get its consent.
It seems, this is it.
As long as they collaborate with Wang Wang, the Dalmatian should allow them to leave, and this might just be thanks to Angel’s matchmaking efforts.
Moreover, Wang Wang is under the Dalmatian’s command. Helping Wang Wang not only offers them a chance to leave, but possibly earns them the Dalmatian’s friendship. If that’s the case, it’s a great gain.
A being at the Great Demon King level like the Dalmatian doesn’t seem to be the type that kills indiscriminately. Befriending it only brings benefits with no downsides.
"I understand, I agree to become its partner."
Once the Observer agreed, Angel immediately took out the prepared contract terms, with the witness being the Dalmatian.
The terms were quite relaxed, similar to what Angel had described, without the Observer needing to risk life and limb, only requiring a most suitable and rigorous plan to be devised.
There were some additional clauses, such as not to harm Wang Wang, respect the Dalmatian, and so on… but those were trivial matters.
The Observer quickly signed the contract, witnessed by the Dalmatian, and the Observer dared not slack off.
"Now, can you first tell us what Wang Wang’s plan is?" The Observer was quite decisive; once the contract was signed, he immediately assumed the role of a partner.
"Wang Wang’s plan…" Angel sighed deeply as he spoke, "It doesn’t have much of a plan, just wants to threaten the two in the pure white chamber to find out the whereabouts of its companions, and then it’ll rescue them."
"This plan is quite… direct." The Observer almost said what was on his mind, "But the plan isn’t bad; as long as the strength is sufficient, you can directly crush through the Phantom Spirit City."
The Observer meant Wang Wang bringing the Dalmatian to crush the Phantom Spirit City, simple and easy, perhaps not even needing to threaten the two in the pure white chamber.
"It." Angel quietly pointed at the Dalmatian, "It is the ultimate trump card, and even for Wang Wang, inviting it pays a huge price. So, if possible, it’s best not to utilize it."
The Observer: "I see. Then tell me about the bargaining chips you have at hand, and I’ll combine them with my experience to see if I can make a plan."
"Not we, it’s you and Wang Wang." Angel reiterated that he would not participate in the rescue operation, this matter had nothing to do with him, he was merely a messenger. If he went to the Phantom Spirit City, it would be like sending warmth from a thousand miles.
"Alright then, what bargaining chips does Wang Wang have?"
Angel thought for a moment: "The divine avatars of Polo Ye and Gluz Deward’s divine thought, that counts as Wang Wang’s biggest bargaining chip."
The Observer: "Anything else? Like Wang Wang’s own strength."
Angel: "Do you have expectations for the strength of a Void Traveler?"
The Observer: "…" You say such things in front of Wang Wang without giving it any face, huh?
Angel: "However, although Wang Wang’s strength can be neglected, its escape ability is very strong."
The Observer: "I also know that Void Travelers have strong space teleportation abilities, but the Phantom Spirit City has spatial lockdowns. Although it is called a city, it is actually a closed other-dimensional space. In the words of some ignorant primitive humans, it’s akin to a Divine Country. Gluz Deward is the supreme god of the Divine Country, mastering everything within the Phantom Spirit City, including space. So, teleportation abilities are basically useless there unless your space teleportation ability reaches the level of a Space Mage at the pinnacle of legendary prowess."
Angel: "That’s the way to describe it, but Wang Wang’s escape ability is indeed quite strong."
The Observer had spoken of how strictly the Phantom Spirit City was sealed, yet Angel repeated this, seemingly making the Observer realize something.
The Observer: "Can its spatial abilities traverse the Phantom Spirit City?"
Angel: "I don’t know, but in terms of space teleportation, it is indeed very strong. In terms of escape capability alone, it can be compared to a legendary level Space Wizard."
Wang Wang’s void traversal, it’s no longer just a spatial ability, but involves high-dimensional walking. However, this is a secret between Angel and Wang Wang, and will absolutely not be revealed.
Observer: "So, even if it went to the Phantom Spirit City, as long as it isn’t caught, it has a good chance of traversing out. Is that what you’re saying?"
Angel nodded: "Yes."
The Observer’s eyes lit up slightly: "That could indeed save a lot of follow-up processing tasks."
He considers himself a "Think Tank" now and has to think about many details. If Wang Wang can traverse out of the Phantom Spirit City, it will make many things simpler.
"I understand, the current bargaining chips are Polo Ye, the avatar of Gluz Deward, and Wang Wang’s spatial traversal, right?"
Angel: "And you."
Observer: "Right, and me."
Angel: "That’s about it, do you have any plans…"
Before Angel could finish speaking, suddenly, the Dalmatian, curled up pretending to sleep, yawned and barked a few times.
Everyone immediately fell silent, after all, other than Angel, everyone else looked at the Dalmatian with the eyes of a "Great Demon King". Its bark, even if it was a milk-sounding puppy bark, must be greeted with silence and respect.
After the Dalmatian finished barking, seeing everyone staring at it, it embarrassedly shook its ears.
Then, the Dalmatian walked along the edge of the table, approaching Angel.
It stopped by Angel’s hand, affectionately rubbing its head.
The Observer silently watched this scene, then silently looked at Angel… Is this what you meant by unfamiliar???
Angel was also at a loss for words; he had clearly instructed the Dalmatian to ignore him, to pretend not to know him, and the Dalmatian obediently sat in the main seat sleeping. Why did it suddenly move?
Indeed, one cannot set their mind at ease!
While Angel was thinking about how to explain, he suddenly felt something seemed to appear in his hand.
Looking down, he saw the Dalmatian spit out a round sphere into his palm, yawned again, and returned to the main seat to curl up and sleep.
"It came over to give me this." Angel had a thought, opening his palm to show the sphere, pretending as if he was really not familiar with the Dalmatian.
The Observer coldly sneered in his heart but did not believe it—this brat, most likely like Wang Wang, was also a subordinate of the Dalmatian. With such a massive backer, no wonder he appeared so fearless outside, daring to approach the attributes of disorder to learn from them.
However, the Observer was good at maintaining appearances; since Angel didn’t wish to reveal he was a subordinate of the Dalmatian, he decided to feign ignorance.
Then, the Observer focused his gaze on the sphere in Angel’s hand and froze.
"Is this… Deep Space? And, a Seats embryo?"
Angel hadn’t looked closely at what the sphere was, but hearing the Observer say so, he examined it carefully.
The sphere was transparent, divided into two sides: one side was a deep misty starry sky, and the other was a curled-up purple-black crystal creature.
The purple-black crystal creature, Angel recognized, was indeed the Seats embryo. But that deep misty starry sky, Angel found familiar. Listening to the Observer’s identification, it was Deep Space? Why did he have no impression of it?
"What is Deep Space?" Angel curiously inquired.
"You’ve seen it before, in that laboratory, the third-class citizens of the Phantom Spirit City, you referred to it as Mist Shadow. I didn’t tell you its name at that time. Actually, this race is called Deep Space." The reason for not telling Angel earlier was due to the fear that silently uttering Deep Space’s name might alert the elders of its race, but inside the body of the Dalmatian, the Great Demon King, there wasn’t such a concern.
Angel: "So that’s what it was, no wonder it looked quite familiar."
Angel looked at Deep Space with eyes full of interest. He had been very curious about the "Mist Shadow" before; its abilities were quite fascinating, but eventually, for various reasons, he hadn’t acted on it. Unexpectedly, now it reappeared before him, and it was trapped within this unknown sphere by the Dalmatian.
"This Seats embryo, I thought it was dead before, but it turns out there’s still a thread of life remaining, befitting the bloodline of that individual. Moreover, the spirit remains intact, so it seems it received protection previously," the Observer remarked in admiration. "One wonders how this Seats embryo and Deep Space were captured?"
One can only say, the Dalmatian… formidable.
Angel weighed the sphere: "Besides the bargaining chips we mentioned earlier, now, we’ve added them."
Angel placed the sphere on the table and gently pushed it towards the Observer.
Though he was very interested in Deep Space, considering its elders, investigating it might be unwise. Handing it to the Observer to handle seemed more prudent.
The Observer accepted the sphere, felt its presence, and understood the method to unlock it and its effects; it was a purely energy-based sealing tool. Not only could it seal Deep Space and the Seats embryo, but its upper limit could also even seal the avatars of Polo Ye and Gluz Deward.
It’s undoubtedly a powerful energy tool, the only pity being that it’s a one-time use item.
Judging from its structure, it seemed that the Dalmatian casually crafted it with energy.
Once again, he praised the Dalmatian’s might. The Observer mused inwardly.
"Observer, do you have any plans now?" Angel asked.
Observer: "I still need to think it over, but the bargaining chips are sufficient."
"Very well, you can just directly convey your plans to Wang Wang when you have them." Angel was ready to be hands-off; he didn’t want to join the fray, knowing too much of the plan might inadvertently involve him.
The Observer was momentarily taken aback: "Wang Wang can speak?"
Angel: "No, but it can understand what you say, and can nod or shake its head. That should be enough."
Observer:…Is that what you mean by enough?
However, as long as it can understand, can express "yes or no," then indeed, it’s possible to communicate, albeit taking more time; eventually, the communication will be completed.
Angel: "There’s a room next door, you can go over to communicate at any time. Or, sir, would you like to have something to eat first?"
The Observer looked at the porcelain plate before him, recalling the various etiquettes associated with the porcelain plate earlier, he shook his head: "Never mind, I’m not hungry, I’ll go to the room next door to think."
Having said that, the Observer stood up and, following Angel’s direction, went into a small quiet room.
Alone in this quiet room, his mind was still somewhat cluttered with thoughts.
This experience has been too tumultuous, full of twists and turns; earlier he’d never imagined it would culminate in becoming a collaborator with a Void Traveler.
Carefully reflecting on his conversation with Angel, the Observer still found many uncertainties in his heart.
All these uncertainties revolved around the Dalmatian.
The Dalmatian seemed detached yet also appeared to be a witness to everything.
The relationship between Angel and the Dalmatian was also quite odd.
Most importantly, what exactly is the Dalmatian? Where does it come from?
The Observer pondered over these thoughts but couldn’t figure them out, ultimately sighing and deciding to stop thinking about it. After all, the contract was signed, so he’d just play the role of a collaborator and help Wang Wang.
How should the rescue be carried out? How to make the best use of the current bargaining chips? The Observer couldn’t help but fall into deep thought.
