Soon, the Immemorial Citadels universe fell silent.
Everyone let out sighs of relief, and many simply collapsed to the ground, losing all sense of dignity.
Astral Anuras legs were still trembling.
Emperor Slayer bared his teeth. At least he had not died. Damn it! That was way too hard.
Lu Yuan, Lu Qi, Ancient God, and many others were still worried; was Little Seven alright?
Before anyone in that universe could rest, they received news: the insect swarm that had been waiting in the Aevum Inch was racing towards the Tianyuan once again. However, this time, they were missing the Immortal bug, Shan Xiao, and Luo Chan.
This meant the Immortal had not taken the swarm of insects away with it.
This was not surprising news for the people of the Tianyuan. They were unaware of just how terrifying Luo Chans ability truly was. On the other hand, this development did surprise Lu Yin. Why had Luo Chan not taken the entire swarm away?
Had it been short on time, or was taking the swarm away simply unnecessary?
When he returned to the Origin Universe, he immediately saw vast swarms of insects entering from the Aevum Inch and making their way into the Tianyuan. No, he had been slightly mistaken; the Verdant Sages had been taken away. The swarm should have had several.
Luo Chan had taken the most dangerous insects from the swarm, but it had left the rest behind.
Roar.
The Immortal monster charged, its eyes locked onto Lu Yin. The massive arm slammed down as the beasts body swelled up larger and larger. It crushed the universe while pulverizing a great deal of the horde of insects.
Without any stronger insects, the swarm could be left for the people of the Tianyuan to deal with. Lu Yin continued on to the Aevum Inch, leaving the Tianyuan. He would deal with the monster there.
The Immortal beast relentlessly pursued Lu Yin. It propelled itself forward by swinging its arm, using the same method that it had once used to chase after Boundless.
The sight caused Lu Yins expression to grow even colder. He had nearly died to the beast during their last encounter.
Come!
Battle broke out in the Tianyuan once more, but this time, the Nest civilizations bugs were completely routed. Countless insects scattered, fleeing to every corner of the megaverse and parallel universe.
Mo Bai and Yu Leng returned to one particular parallel universe.
They actually lost Yu Leng muttered in disbelief. The Nest civilization had invaded the Tianyuan, only to be defeated. He had just watched countless insects be slaughtered without the slightest ability to resist, as all of the stronger ones had simply vanished.
Mo Bai lifted her head up to stare at the stars. We keep hiding.
Yu Leng was unwilling, but he had no choice.
In another parallel universe, Forgotten Ruins God laughed happily while sitting on Skydogs back. As expected of little Lu Yin! He actually saved the Tianyuan once more! Remarkable, hehe.
Wang Xiaoyu looked at the other woman. What do we do now?
Forgotten Ruins God shrugged. Theres no rush, so we continue to hide. Now that little Lu Yin is back, no one will be able to escape. I, for one, dont want him to find me.
Zhao Ran had already returned to the Mirari Realm. Her little boat had nearly been shattered, and it was barely holding itself together as it drifted atop the River of Aeons.
Wei Nu stared at Zhao Ran. Was it worth it?
No answer was given. Zhao Ran just quietly sat in her boat.
Wei Nu shifted her gaze to the Tianyuan and then out into the Aevum Inch. Disbelief filled her eyes.
She was not surprised to discover that Lu Yin had broken through and become an Ortuser. What shocked her was that he was actually capable of fighting against an Immortal.
Any cultivation realm could be defeated by those with weaker cultivation, as there were always Realmbreakers. The sole exception was the Immortal realm. That was another realm of existence, and it could be considered the pinnacle for any lifeform. But despite it being impossible, Lu Yin had still succeeded in overcoming it. Just how far would the man eventually rise?
Wei Nu finally looked away, turning towards the karmic forbidden region of the Mirari Realm and then looked down into the depths of the River of Aeons. Your disciple becomes more terrifying by the day. Its best that I keep my distance. I am finally able to leave the Mirari Realm now.
At the stone gate that marked the boundary of the Tianyuan, Jiang Feng and a group of top experts arrived. All of them peered out from the megaverse.
They were looking at where Lu Yin had confronted the Immortal monster.
None of them knew if Lu Yin might need help, so they all waited at the stone gate, just in case.
In the Aevum Inch, claws ripped through the void, tearing across an endless distance. The damage stretched out of sight, forming what looked like a black beam of light.
If anyone, even a Dukkhan, touched that beam, they would die without question.
Lu Yin dodged the beasts claws again and again while his Tri-Azure Sword Intent fell upon the monster like raindrops that sliced its body.
He wanted to strike the point between the beasts eyes, just as he had before. The beast might have been mad, but it was not stupid. It was guarding that spot in particular, saturating it with Immortal matter. The Tri-Azure Sword Intent unraveled before it could even get close. Nothing could approach that point.
This method employed Immortal matter to shatter everything that approached. Theoretically, nothing could surpass such a barrier before first surpassing Immortal matter itself.
Immortal matter was the most powerful substance known in the cosmos; it was akin to an Immortal themselves. Nothing surpassed Immortal matter, which was why only equals could overcome a barrier made with it.
Unless Lu Yin infused his Tri-Azure Sword Intent with more Immortal matter than what was being used to protect the beasts brow, it would be impossible to pierce through it.
What Lu Yin found especially puzzling was how Jiang Feng had managed to deal with Master Qing Cao when he had used a barrier of Immortal matter, despite not having any himself.
That incident only served as proof that Immortal matter was not truly absolute. There were other ways to deal with it than to directly compete with it.
Bang, bang, bang
Sparks flew as the claws continuously ripped through the void. The beasts furious roars rang out incessantly.
Lu Yin pressed a hand down, dropping the Heaven and Earth Lock onto the beast and trapping it once more. He took advantage of the opening, and Infinity surged through his body as he released the Ninth Heaven and spread out the Heavens Seals sequence particles. True Gods Natural Art was used, and Lu Yins body was shrouded with Lifeforce. He took a single step forward, instantly appearing before one of the beasts massive, ferocious eyes and threw a punch.
Ill blind you again!
Boom!
The space shattered, and rippling shockwaves shot out in every direction, shattering everything.
Lu Yins fist struck the beasts eyelid. At the last moment, the creature had shut its eye, saving the eyeball.
Lu Yin had assumed that he would simply tear through the eyelid, but instead, a familiar force rebounded and sent him staggering back. He then realized that he had still bee underestimating the Immortal monster.
Waves of white energy surged from its body. It was releasing Lifeforce.
Of course it had Lifeforce. The monster was an Immortal, and Lifeforce was required to reach that level.
The beast had simply not used its Lifeforce before, but that did not mean that it lacked that power.
Maybe it didnt use Lifeforce before because of its immense size. Doing so wouldve been too wasteful. But now
Lu Yin watched as the beast shrank down. The Heaven and Earth Lock shrank with the beast, keeping it restrained. That lasted until the monsters Lifeforce spread out, forming another arm, and then two, three
What? Is the beast replacing its arms with Lifeforce?
From a distance, it looked like the Immortal beast was transforming. Its body had shrank down countless times, and while it was still enormous and intimidating, it was at least small enough for someone to behold its entire form.
It swung the white Lifeforce arms, as well as its original limb, frantically attacking with its claws.
The two eyes remained fixed on Lu Yin. The madness and rage slowly grew calmer, and the beast even spoke. Bug. Bug.
Lu Yin clenched his fist. You think Im the bug? Youre the one whos a beast.
Bug. Die. The beast flailed its arms, each one ending in sharp claws. They stabbed at Lu Yin from above, below, and every other direction. Every possible escape route was sealed off.
Lu Yin launched a kick, empowering his Lifeforce with Immortal matter. The tremendous strength of his kick smashed the approaching arms aside, and he deliberately struck the beasts Lifeforce directly, as he wanted to test out just how strong it was.
The clash resulted in him taking several steps back, whereas the arms of Lifeforce merely faltered for an instant before continuing their attacks.
Lu Yins expression fell. The beasts Lifeforce was extremely powerful. He could only barely force his way through it, and with that Lifeforce protecting the beasts entire body, it had just become far more difficult to harm it.
He had underestimated the Immortal.
Even in a half-crippled state, the beast was a truly formidable opponent.
Still in the Tianyuan, Master Qing Cao stood on a desolate planet while observing the Aevum Inch.
Immortals were lifeforms that had entered another plane of existence. Any method used by an Immortal was enough to suppress all creatures beneath that realm.
While the beast appeared to be terribly wounded, its size, strength, and defenses were enough to destroy the entire megaverse. Even against an opponent as impressive as Lu Yin, simply using Lifeforce was enough for the monster to suppress the man.
That was an Immortal creature.
No one could underestimate the Immortal realm. Beings at that level existed in harmony with the Cosmic Laws, granted recognition by the cosmos itself as rightful lifeforms.
Beneath that level, no matter if they were human or any other species, they would never be acknowledged by the cosmos and could be extinguished at any moment.
Only Immortal creatures could truly exist.
The only thing that could kill an Immortal was another Immortal.
That remained true even if an Immortal looked so old that they were teetering on the edge of death.
Lu Yin, do you want to defy this law? With how difficult it is, can you really succeed?
White Lifeforce illuminated the Aevum Inch, allowing Jiang Feng and the others to see the distant battle more clearly.
In the Immemorial Citadel universe, Lu Yin had trapped the monster inside the Heaven and Earth Lock before striking its body with a flowing attack. That series of events had led people to believe that he might be able to slay the Immortal monster.
It was only at this moment that they fully understood that the Immortal beast would not be an easy opponent even for Lu Yin.
The Tianyuan had released its full power, and it had still failed to stand up to a single attack from the Immortal bug. If not for Emperor Slayers finger strike and the Immortal beast arriving at the last moment, the Tianyuan would already have already been reset.
A momentary advantage was not enough to decide victory or defeat.
All that anyone could do at this moment was watch, as they were all powerless to help.
White arms and sharp claws endlessly sealed off Lu Yins paths of escape.
Lu Yin could not injure the beast, but the beast also could not injure him. Lu Yin had not even been forced to use Extremes Must Be Reversed yet.
He had the strength to fight against an Immortal, but he lacked an attack powerful enough to finish the beast off.
The monster never stopped swinging its arms, and its two eyes never stopped tracking Lu Yins movements.
Similarly, Lu Yins eyes never left the beast.
It was possible to use up the beasts Lifeforce. While Immortals were able to produce endless amounts of Lifeforce, it was possible to use it up faster than it was replenished. If not for that, the monster would not have bothered to shrink its body down. At the moment, the battle came down to a question of how long the beast could last while Lu Yin struggled to find a way to end things.
Hours passed, and yet there was still no end in sight.
In the Tianyuan Megaverse, the fighting had devolved to hunting down the scattered insects. In the Aevum Inch, Lu Yin kept evading the beasts attacks. He was determined to find out exactly how much Lifeforce it had.
Before long, the beasts wild eyes betrayed a hint of pride and mockery.
It was impossible for Lu Yin not to notice the change; the eyes were far too large.
The beasts gaze felt like it was taunting him. Lu Yin instinctively tried to get away, but it was already too late. Everywhere in the surrounding region of the Aevum Inch was illuminated by white sparks: Lifeforce. As Lu Yin looked around, he saw countless white sparks linking together. They were trapping him and the beast inside.
Is this a battle technique?
